Mila Kunis to play the lead in Jessica Knoll’s ‘Luckiest Girl Alive’ Netflix adaptation

Jessica Knoll’s novel ‘Luckiest Girl Alive’ will soon be adapted into a movie. The film would be developed for Netflix. As per the recent update, Mila Kunis would be playing the lead role. Kunis is known for her performances in Black Swan(2010), The Book of Eli(2010), Friends with Benefits(2011), Ted(2012), and Bad Moms(2016).

The novel is a New York Times Bestseller, with a million copies sold and translated into 38 different languages.

The Plot of Luckiest Girl Alive

The 2015 novel unfolds the story of Ani FaNelli, a 28 year old woman who seems to have a perfect life. She works as an editor for a women’s magazine and has a loving fiance. All her dreams seem to fulfil or soon to be fulfilled as she plans for a dream wedding in Nantucket. But there is more to her life than it looks.

Ani has a troubled past that she kept a secret for a long time. In her teen years, she was a witness and a victim of several events that disturb her to this day. One day, a director of a crime documentary invites her to tell her side of the story. Despite knowing how it can shake up her life, Ani now has to relive all those events that happened and face them head on.

Who is in The Production Team?

Kunis would not only play Ani in the movie but also co-produce under her banner Orchard Farm Productions. Bruna Papandrea and Jeanne Snow will produce under Made Up Stories bannerAlso, Picturestart’s Erik Feig and Lucy Kitada will co-produce the film. Jessica Knoll will act as an executive producer and is also writing the screenplay for the movie.

Along with Knoll, Lisa Sterbakov (Orchard Farm Productions), Shayne Fiske Goldner (Picturestart), and Steve Hutensky (Made Up Stories) will also act as executive producers. Mike Barker, known for his work in The Handmaid’s Tale and Fargo, will direct the movie.
