Fruits Basket Season 4 Release Date and Production Schedule Revealed

Fans’ favorite Fruits Basket has confirmed its fourth season in 2023. The production also revealed that Fruits Basket Season 4 will become the final season of the Japanese anime series. Rumors for the release date have spread everywhere. Here’s what we know so far.

Release in April 2023

Fruits Basket‘s official website has announced that the Fruits Basket Season 4 will get released in April 2023. Fruits Basket is an award-winning Japanese manga anime, created by Natsuki Takaya. The anime originally started airing in 2001. However the anime story did not match the original manga, that’s why the series got canceled. In 2019, the show got a reboot from the first season. Fruits Basket airs on TV Aichi, TV Osaka, and TV Tokyo. The official Fruits Basket website has updated the poster of season 4.

Plot

Fruits Basket is the story of Tohru Honda. Tohru lives with her grandfather after she lost her mother in an accident. When Tohru’s grandfather starts to renovate his home, she shifts to a tent. In a landslide, the tent gets destroyed. This left Tohru to find an emergency shelter. Yuki Souma invites Tohru to live in their house. Eventually, Tohru realizes that Souma is hiding for many years.

Later Yuki’s Shigure and Kyo befriend Tohru. One day, when Kyo and Yuki were fighting, Tohru accidentally tripped and hugged the 3 of them. Suddenly Yuki and Shigure except Kyo get transformed into cats and dogs. Tohru is shocked and panicked to see that. When things get normal, Shigure explains to Tohru that the Souma family is cursed. When anyone of the opposite gender hugs them, they transform into their Chinese zodiac animal. Tohru accepts this fate and decides to help other zodiac animals.

However, in season 2 ending, Akito is revealed as a woman. This will follow up in the upcoming season. Fans got to know more adventures of Tohru. The major relationships of Kureno & Akito, Maki & Yuki, Tohru & Kyo will develop.
