The co-writer and the producer of the movie want to make two sequels of the movie ‘Alita: Fallen Angel’ and ‘Alita: Avenging Angel’. Cameron opened up about the future of the movie in an interview with BBC Radio 1 as he said, “That’s assuming we make some money.”

The main problem that came after Alita: Battle Angel was released was that Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. Alita: Battle Angel was an independent movie which was produced and distributed and 20th Century Fox but after it came under Disney it was Disney’s decision whether Alita: Battle Angel will get a sequel or not. After Disney’s movie the director and the producer who was planning on for many sequels of the movie doubted it.

But after Disney came up with its streaming service Rodriguez is quite optimistic that this 2019 movie will return to the big screens. The American Filmmaker in an interview with Forbes said,

“I think anything is possible. Disney bought Fox, and they have Disney+. So that is worth the conversation. I know other people would love to see another, and I would love to do another one. As far as where it would go or how it would be made, I think streaming has opened up many opportunities such as sequels. It’s already a pre-sold concept, it’s already got a built-in audience that wants to see it, and then it’s delivered to them in a way that’s the easiest for them to consume. So it’s not a bad idea.”

The cast for Alita: Battle Angel 2

It is expected that our beloved cyborg Rosa Salazar would come back in the role of Alita. In an interview, she explained how much she loves the role as she explained, “I would play Alita till my last breath. I would and thanks to the performance capture technology, I probably could.”

Christopher Waltz will also reprise his role of Dr Dyson Ido in the second part. Last year in April he said,” I haven’t heard anything and I’m a little disappointed and surprised that I haven’t heard a thing so far, because I know that it has followers. I know that people liked it and aside from what others said, I loved it and I liked working on it and I liked the result.”

Well, Disney hasn’t renewed the Alita: Battle Angel 2 yet and Landau seems to have some ideas about it. He said, “What I think the Alita army should do is keep peppering our family now at Disney and let them know how important it is to have another Alita movie and hopefully we’ll venture there one day.”

He also explained that if Alita did get renewed then the sequel will take a lot of time to come out as he added, “You’ve got to assume that’s going to take you 12 to 18 months to write a script. Assuming that script is great, you then have a six to ten-month pre-production. You then have a six-month shoot. You then have a year of post-production and that’s just any movie of this ilk.”
