The New Mutants star, Alice Braga is all set to be featured in another superhero film franchise. Yes, you have guessed it right, it’s DC Extended Universe’s newest installment of The Suicide Squad, directed by James Gunn and starring Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn.
Alice Braga’s Role
In the ensemble antihero film, Alice is playing the role of Sol Soria, who is projected as a South American revolutionary who eventually becomes an ally of the new Squad.
Braga said in an interview “I really love the comics. I really love the DC world, I’m a huge fan of James Gunn. I think he’s a phenomenal director that brings so much joy and so much fun to this.”
Braga’s reaction when she was questioned on why so many women are featured in the upcoming film: “I think it’s so important for us to be represented, for women, the strength of women, for female empowerment. We were saying that we wish we had a show like this when we were younger.”
While considering the violence shown in the movie, which might be “too violent” for young girls, she says that it’s anyway important to “see these women in a powerful way, in action sequences and all that.”
Release date and Cast
We are expecting the movie to be released on Aug. 6, 2021. James Gunn penned down the script to The Suicide Squad. Chuck Roven and Peter Safran are the producers. Gunn tweeted a list of the cast members. Take a look at it below:
