Both Aniplex and Type-Moon have announced the news that PS4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan will finally release the remake of Tsukihime. The remake is originally named- “Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon”. The director of the series is Kinoko Nasu and the character designer is Takeshi Takeuchi. The theme song ‘Seimeisen’ is made by ReoNa.
Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass is said to be the remake of Type-Moon’s one of the popular flagship visual novels. Tsukihime was originally released in December 2000.
Tsukihime is also translated as ‘Moon Princess’. This is a fantasy horror genre visual novel, with a slight mixture of romance. Tsukihime shows the story of Misaki town, where murders are happening and people are assuming these murders are done by Vampires. Protagonist Shiki Tohno is avoiding to solve the murder mystery. Instead he wants to live a peaceful life involving any troubles.
Later in the story, Shiki becomes a prey for Mystic Eyes of Death. It gradually kills Shiki but unknowingly gives monstrous powers. Now Shiki can destroy anything he touches. Later he tries to connect the murders happening close to his house and eventually realizes that somehow he is the killer.
Tsukihime’s original story focuses on family drama and monster-human romance. Though it is not sure if the remake is going to literally follow the original story line. Gamers might get similar plots and guest characters from other games such as Kara No Kyoukai. As both of these games exist in the same universe, called ‘Nasuverse’.
