Nanci Pelosi, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, on Thursday said that the house will impeach the president Donald Trump for the second time. The decision came after Trump’s involvement in encouraging pro-Trump supporters to assault the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday. Also, she claimed that policymakers should quickly remove Trump from the office of the US president.
Pelosi also called the current vice-president Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment. If Pence invokes the 25th Amendment then the president will be removed from his office before his official term ends in two weeks. While talking with the reporters in the Capitol, she mentioned that Trump instigated the violence targeting Congress in the Capitol. She further added that it will stain the country’s history forever.
Trump provoked his supporters to breach the Capitol
The Congress gathered at the Capitol on Wednesday to clarify and certify the 2020 presidential election results. President-elect Joe Biden won the election, winning both the popular vote and electoral college vote, but Trump has been disputing the election results without evidence. While the Congress met to confirm the official winner, Trump simultaneously held rallies and ultimately incited a mob to breach the Capitol.
Later, the Congress returned to the Capitol and confirmed that president-elect Joe Biden is officially going to become the next president. FBI asked the members from the public to help them in identifying the Capitol rioters. Meanwhile, Trump faces several backlashes following the event. After realising that his tweet encouraged the mob to breach Capitol, Twitter blocked his account, followed by Facebook.

Donald Trump has only a two-week window to continue serving as the president of the US. But, Nancy Pelosi thinks it has been enough time for him to assume his role in the office. She urged the members of Trump’s cabinet to join forces and throw him out of the office. Pelosi fears another horror show in the coming days if Trump continues to exercise his power and post.
