Rebecca Luker, a captivating broadway star dies at the age of 59. She was truly an eminent figure starring in the biggest Broadway hits like Mary Poppins and The Music Man. She was also nominated three times for Tony Awards. You can also see her on ‘The sound of music’.
The heartbreaking news of her death was announced by her husband, Danny Burstein. He released in a statement, “our family is devastated. I have no words at this moment because I’m numb.” It is truly a piece of saddening news for Luker’s family, friends and fans.
Sarah Fargo confirms Luker’s death in Manhattan to The New York Times. The family all need their space during this tragic period. Therefore, Fargo did not release any further statements yet.
Rebecca Luker’s battle with ALS
Around February, the star shares on Twitter her diagnosis with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis also called ALS. An alternative term to ALS is Lou Gehrig’s disease. She has always been positive throughout and that is well-commendable.
Rebecca will always be remembered for her greatness on Broadway! She has been nominated for Tony awards for 1995’s Magnolia, 2000’s The Music Man and 2007’s Mary Poppins. She was indeed humble, kind, and giving. Her voice is also that of an angel.
