Ryan Reynolds is returning to Netflix with his new project after 6 Underground and soon-to-be release Red Notice. The pre-production started back in July 2020 when Netflix agreed to board on the film with director Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds. Paramount Pictures and Mission Impossible actor Tom Cruise were previously interested in the project, but they later dropped in 2012.
Ryan Reynolds, Shawn Levy, and David Ellison will jointly produce the film under their respective banners. Reynolds’ Maximum Effort, Levy’s 21 Laps Entertainment, and David Ellison’s Skydance Media are the production company behind the project. The filming reportedly commenced on November 23, 2020, in Vancouver.
The Adam Project Expected Storyline
After realising the future is in trouble, a man (played by Reynolds) travels back in time to meet his 13-year-old younger self. Then, the man will ask help from his younger self to find their father, a brilliant physicist. Their late father is now the same age as Reynold’s character. After finding the father, they have to set things right to save the future from impending danger.
The Adam Project Cast
The reports claimed that Avengers actor, who plays Hulk, will join the cast and play Reynold’s father in the film. Walker Scobell will have his Hollywood debut as he is playing Reynolds younger self. Catherine Keener will play the role of the primary antagonist who has stolen a powerful device from Ruffalo’s character, the physicist. Alex Mallari Jr. has also been added to the cast and will be the villain’s right hand.
Avatar actress Zoe Saldana and Pearl Harbour actress Jennifer Garner have also boarded the film in an undisclosed role. This will be the second professional collaboration with Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds. The duo previously worked on the much-anticipated sci-fi action-comedy, Free Guy, based on the popular role-playing open-world video game. Fre Guy will release sometime in 2021.
The Adam Project will most potentially release in 2022.
