PlayStation 5: Price, Release Date, Specifications. Is It Worth Buying?

Sony has finally announced its much-awaited Play Station 5. What could be better news for Play Station gamers? Absolutely nothing. Sony has revealed the release date, price and the specifications of the Play Station 5. If you’re looking for an or all of those things, you’re at the right place. Sony has also revealed the launch titles of the next generation of gaming consoles. In case you still haven’t caught on, the new generation of gaming consoles will be Play Station 5 and Play Station Digital Edition. The new Play Station 5 and the Play Station Digital edition are expected to have better graphics, support for high refresh rates, smoothness and more.

Price And Availability Of The Play Station 5

Sony has revealed that it will be doing something different yet something pretty same. It will be doing something very similar to what Xbox has done with its new gaming consoles. Xbox has released two versions of its latest gaming consoles. They have released a Digital version as well as a non-digital version. That is exactly what Play Station is doing. It is releasing a Play Station 5 and a Play Station Digital Edition.

Play Station 5 will retail for $499 (approximately €429), whereas the Digital Edition will retail at $399 (approximately €342). There aren’t very many differences between the two variants of the Play Stations. The only things that are different in terms of looks or specifications are that both the variants have is the inclusion of a disc drive on the regular PS5 and none on the Digital Edition.

We’re well aware of the fact that Blu-Ray does not cost as much as $100. $100 is the cost difference between the two versions. For the sharp minds out there, you must be wondering why is Sony charging us so much over just a Blu-Ray. The reason behind that is very smart on Sony’s part. The reason for that is Sony can now cut down the profit the middle man (or the retailer) makes in order to sell the gaming consoles.

Sony is also coming out with DualSense controllers. The controllers are priced at $69.99 (approximately €15) per piece and the charging dock is priced at $29.99 (approximately €26.)

The Play Station will be released on the 12th of November in certain countries. These countries are the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Mexico and South Korea. The rest of the world will be able to purchase the device from November 19.
