“The Boys” Season 2 is out on Amazon Prime with new twists and turns and double the insanity. The new season will bring in more characters to the mix, including Adana (Goran Visnjic), Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit), and Stormfront (Aya Cash). “The Boys” is an American TV series that features a group of superheroes. The comic-crime series holds maximum action and insanity as the Boys heads off against the Seven.
The Amazon series is influenced by the superhero comic, with a touch of several distinctive elements. The new character, Stormfront played by Aya Cash, brings out the noticeable difference between the comic version and the Amazon series.
The part is originally played by a male character in The Boys comic, but amazon decides to feature a female for the series. The production has a strong reason as to why a female? The showrunner Eric Kripke explained “we wanted to create Homelander’s( strongest member of the seven) worst nightmare, and for him it obviously would be a strong female who wasn’t afraid of him and fought to steal his stoplight. Even the thought of it would hurt him more than if it was a male character”.
Cash further revealed that her character was introduced in order to shake things up. She also says “I think she’s here to blow up Vought. She’s here to try to get Vought back to the original idea behind creating superheroes.” Cash basically describes Stormfront as a powerful and an emboldened character who intends to shake things up a notch.
SEASON 2 WITH STORMFRONT
Stormfront was portrayed as a nazi in the comic version, which might explain her racist tendencies in the series. The character was bought in by Conglomerate Vought International so as to fill the void in their superhero team but her appearance is rather baffling as she was supposedly picked from obscurity in Portland, Oregon and thrust into the spotlight alongside the other superheroes. The series mostly portrayed Stormfront as a feminist icon who hates patronizing “girl power,”.
Also, in the comic version, Stormfront is shown as a Supe with major powers as compared to Homelander, which could explain his clear displeasure with her appearance . Clearly, Stormfront’s motive in the show is to challenge the ultimate villain and the seven’s leader, homelander. The new character is up to add a whole new dynamic to the show. Season 2 will challenge homelander at every step and make him come face to face with his insecurities.
The first season of the show ended with a cliffhanger that none of the fans would have guessed. It left the viewers with plenty of unanswered questions and hopes. Now, Season 2 is on with all the answers, double the fun and maximum action.
