Along with the new Apple Watch 6, Apple Inc. released a mid-tier model at a reasonable price called Apple Watch SE. The Apple Watch SE reportedly misses out on the significant features that are on Apple Watch 6 or even on the Apple Watch 5. This smartwatch is a similar take on the company’s smartphone lineup the iPhone SE.
Apple Watch SE surely has low-end specs but upgrades the features available in Apple Watch Series 3. The smartwatch, however, retains some of the key features of the premium Apple Watch. It also has a larger display and always-on altimeter from the Apple Watch Series 6.
Apple Watch SE: Price
Like Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch SE also comes in two displays — a 40 mm and 44 mm. The lower model starts at $279 whereas the larger model’s price starts at $309. These prices are for the GPS version of Apple Watch SE. The LTE versions are slightly expensive that these smartwatches. The 40mm LTE versions start at $329 whereas the larger version costs $359.
All these Apple Watch SE models are available to pre-order on the official webpage of Apple Inc. The smartwatches will start shipping on Septemeber 18 only.
Apple Watch SE: Features
Since it is the lower-end version of Apple Watch, do not expect multiple features in the device. The Apple Watch SE’s appearance is similar to the Apple Watch Series 5, as it has the same display and same S5 processor. You can get the Apple Watch 6 in three different cases, but iWatch SE is available only on aluminium finish.
The flagship wearable gadget from the company features the blood oxygen (SpO2) monitoring, but iWatch SE won’t have it. Even, the SE version won’t have the ECG sensor. The ECG sensor was introduced in Apple Watch 5, which could tell if a user has a bad heart rate. You could get features that aren’t on the company’s flagship Apple Watch Series 3.
The plus point is that the device will feature the same watchOS 7 as Apple Watch 6, which includes sleep tracking. Apple Watch SE will have similar 18-hour-long battery life as Apple Watch 6.
