The defending champion Toronto Raptors is giving a hard-time to the Boston Celtics to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. Celtics already had 2-0 lead, but two impressive games from the champions tied the series. The sluggish performance from Raptors in Game 5 made us think that the Celtics are easily going to the Finals. But, Raptors turned the table and forced Game 7, after defeating Celtics in double overtime on Wednesday.
Tip-off: 9.00 PM Eastern Time on Friday @ ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex
When Celtics came out victorious, they had a cruise control over the game. But Raptors achieved victory in the dying moments or the overtime. Raptors evened the series against Celtics due to the heroics of Norman Powell in the overtimes. He scored 15 points during the overtime along with the game-leading three-pointer. Raptors took four points to lead over Celtics with 38.8 seconds left on the clock, thanks to Powell’s three-pointer. He then finished the game with free throws when the clock stopped at five seconds remaining.
Raptors guard Fred VanVleet said that Powell saved their season with his impressive gameplay. Lowry’s attack hasn’t been impressive, but he showed the bigtime play with his 33 points and six assists. Celtics guard Kemba Walker had a disappointing match as he scored just 5 points after playing 52 minutes. Jaylon Brown and Jayson Tatum, as always, played their good game but wasn’t enough against the defending champions. Brown promised to give everything on Game 7.
