Nvidia RTX 3080 or 3090 might not be available until 2021

If you got excited about the new Nvidia Geforce RTX 30 series cards. Then I have a piece of sad news for you. Reports suggest that the new RTX 3080 or RTX 3090 might not be available until 2021.

According to a report from Tweaktown, the new 3080 or 3090 is going to be produced in a very, very low quantity, and therefore, there is most probably going to be a shortage of them.

The reason

The reason seems to be that Samsung isn’t producing a lot of 8nm processes. So, Nvidia has decided to slow down production until Samsung can yield faster. However, there is also another reason floating around, and this has AMD in it. Apparently, Nvidia wants to wait and watch how AMD’s Big Navi GPUs will stack up against their cards.

The RTX 3080 is priced at $699 and the 3090 is priced at $1499. Both the cards are expected to launch around the latter half of September.
