Nvidia RTX 3080 & Ampere Based Chips’ September Release Date Confirmed

The release date of the next Nvidia GeForce flagship is around the corner. Since the release date is near, there are dozens of leaks and speculations surrounding the specifications of the upcoming RTX 3000 series, and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080. We already know the astounding performance of the high-end graphics card, as it is almost 35% faster than the RTX 2080 Ti.

Nvidia recently announced that the new Ampere GPU architecture would be available on data center graphic cards. However, the company hasn’t mentioned the arrival on GeForce series or GeForce RTX 3080. There were no mentions about the Ampere-based Nvidia GeForce GPUs, but CEO Jensen Huang has hinted that it may potentially come on GPUs as well.

Even though Nvidia is trying to keep the upcoming high-end graphics card under the wrap, a prototype of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 has been recently leaked on Ciphell. The graphics card had a large heat sink in the middle and featured a push or pull fan design. As for the Nvidia, the company hasn’t announced anything official yet.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080: Release Date

The next-gen graphics cards from Nvidia will certainly arrive this year considering Nvidia’s previous timings. Nvidia released the GeForce RTX 1080 in 2016 and GeForce RTX 2080 is 2018. Everyone expected that the company would have revealed the next GeForce lineup in GPU Technology Conference back in March. But the company canceled the revelations, possibly due to coronavirus pandemic.

The new reports suggest that the RTX 3080 will launch in September this year along with the RTX 3000 lineup. Nvidia has already announced the Nvidia Ampere for Data Center. Tech experts are expecting that the company would announce the Ampere architecture for GPU in August. Tweaktown reported that after unveiling Ampere architecture in August, they will release the next-gen graphics card (GeForce flagship) in September during Computex 2020.

Sources close to the company also reported that the mass production of the graphics card will begin from August 2020. There is also a possibility of the revelations of the RTX 3080 at Gamescom 2020 in August.
